2021-2022 School Year
Application Extended Deadline: May 5, 2022

Applicant must meet the following qualifications:
1.) Be a senior at Kearny High School who will graduate in the 2021-2022 school year.
2.) Plans to attend an accredited four-year institution, community college, trade, or vocational
3.) Have a minimum of a 2.5 grade point average overall.
4.) Submit a completed application and ALL required documents by the due date of April 1, 2022 to be considered for a scholarship.
5.) Be available to conduct a Zoom interview with the selection committee on May 7, 2022.

Required documents to be included with the application:
1.) An essay stating why you should be considered as a candidate for the Kearny High School Alumni Association Tom Barnett Scholarship. Share what contribution(s) you made to the Kearny High School community, how your contribution(s) benefited yourself and Kearny, and how you plan to apply your Kearny High School experience in your future. Also include your educational goals, career objectives, and any other information you feel the committee should know. The essay must not exceed one page and must be typed in a font no smaller than 11pt.
2.) An academic resume highlighting your achievements, listing organizations, or extracurricular activities you participated in as a student at Kearny High School.
3.) Two letters of recommendation. One from a Kearny High School certified staff member who is familiar with your engagement at Kearny High School. Another from a member of your community (i.e. religious leader, employer, volunteer supervisor, youth organization leader, etc.) Family members and personal friends are excluded.
4.) A transcript from Kearny High School.
